Thomas G. Barnes
Attorney at Law
In 2006, Tom began his legal career with the City of Philadelphia. He was a law clerk in the courts Post Conviction Unit. As a clerk, he drafted legal memorandums, reviewed legal pleadings, and acted as a trial court commissioner for the court’s forfeiture court program.
While working as a clerk, Tom started his own small firm so that he could pursue his dreams of helping those in need. Tom became a member of the Joe Kelly team in 2008. After representing local neighborhood Pizza Shop owner as a Defendant in a civil case with Joe Kelly on the other side as lawyer for the Plaintiff, a young fresh out of law school lawyer demonstrated his passion and zeal in defending and helping others.
As a few clients have stated about Tom, "Tom makes you feel like the only person in the room, even if you are in a very large crowd. If you have a concern about your case, he will always take the time to talk to you and give you an honest assessment of where things stand."
As a member of the Joe Kelly team, Tom continues to help those in need. He drafts wills for the elderly community in the neighborhood, he assists with estate administration, civil cases, appellate brief writing and argument, keeps the firm up to date on latest case law development, and tries both civil and criminal cases.
